In the pursuit of spiritual understanding, many people turn to a “higher power,” a concept that provides comfort and a sense of control in an uncertain world. However, as Christians, we believe that this “higher power” is not some abstract force, but a specific person—Jesus Christ. When we place Jesus at the center of our lives, we replace vague spiritual notions with the certainty of a personal Savior who loves us and cares for every aspect of our lives.
In the Bible, Jesus is revealed as the source of all true power. Colossians 1:16-17 declares, “For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible…all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.” Jesus Christ is not only our Savior but the very creator and sustainer of the universe. By acknowledging Him, we find that He is the answer to every question and the fulfillment of every need.
By replacing the idea of a distant “higher power” with the tangible presence of Jesus Christ, we engage in a personal relationship with the Creator, who is present in every moment of our lives. The comfort we seek in an undefined higher power is found in the knowing and loving relationship with Christ.
Scripture to Reflect On:

Philippians 2:9-11 – “Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth…”
